Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God

Adverbs, microhabitats, fractions...

Welcome to the new Blog Post from Chestnut class. We have been working really hard to move our learning on in all our subjects.

In Mathematics, we have been practising fractions and finding out equivalent fractions for 1/2. Yesterday we went into the Conservation area and looked at microhabitats. These are small environments within a larger habitat that are suitable for certain kinds of creatures, such as under a log for woodlice. We investigated bug hotels and would like to tell you about them at home.

We acted out the beginning of the Easter story in RE and began to think about different feelings we had about the story.

We wrote prayers to say how we are spreading our love like Jesus during Lent. We have also been working hard to show acts of kindness to remove thorns from our class crown. We have removed 16 thorns so far. Only another 24 to go!

Whilst reading 'Romeo's Tea with the Queen', we have been changing adverbs to improve the author's work. We are creating our own version of the story using interesting adverbs in our writing.
