The Tin Forest, Science Investigation Planning and CiN!
This week has been a very busy one in Chestnut Class. We have started our new phonics groups and are continuing to work hard on using and applying our sounds in writing.
We are enjoying writing our own versions of the story ‘The Tin Forest’ and have brilliant plans to change the setting or the material. Our ideas included, ‘The Ice Forest’ and ‘The Tin Cave’.
In Mathematics we have been continuing to consolidate our understanding of number by working out the inverse operations using sets of numbers. Ask us to explain this and we will share the methods we have used this week.
We got ready for our ‘Melting Ice’ experiment by planning our investigations in Science. We made predictions about which location in our classroom will melt the ice the fastest. More on this next week!
On Friday, we fundraised for Children in Need by wearing our own spotty or stripy clothes. We have included some pictures so you can see how great we looked. Some of us made our own Pudsey ears during SIL time and decorated them with handwriting patterns.
