Nyewood CE Infant School

Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God

That was a quick 6 weeks!

Can you believe the first half of the Spring term is complete?

We have been incredibly busy in Oak Class. We have been expert explorers finding out all about the Arctic and in particular the animals that live there. We have been using different methods to research information including the internet.

Before we could go on the internet we talked carefully about keeping safe online. Ask us about our SMART rules.

We have learnt to write in the style of non-fiction and have even made our own books and written our own riddles. Ask us about the features on a non-fiction text or the ingredients needed to create the perfect riddle.

In RE we have been celebrating good news. We have been sharing stories about Jesus and finding out about the important messages he is telling us. In Oak Class we have spent time exploring two stories called The Good Samaritan and The 10 Lepers. These stories have helped us to identify ways in which we behave towards other people and explored various ways we can show kindness, forgiveness and the importance of saying thank you. We enjoyed acting out the stories and this helped us to understand how the characters might be feeling. We look forward to sharing some different stories from the Bible after half term.

Have a lovely break, we will see you soon.
