Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
New Blog Post
Welcome back to a busy and exciting 2017!
A belated Happy New Year. I can't belive we have been back in school 4 weeks already! The children are all buzzing about their current learning.
In Reception the children are a mine of information about bears. They are loving "Going on a Bear Hunt" (I think the staff are too, as a nameless TA was energentically and enthusiatically acting it out with the children). Since they have put giant paw-prints on the floor to the bear cave I have had a little skip along them before school, when no-one is watching!
Year 1 are becoming experts about space, who knows we may even inspire another Tim Peake. Year 2 are thoughly enjoying the theme of Superheros; they have even made Miss Wells and I superhero masks! We are actually thinking of turning our office into a superhero cave, as they have in the classrooms!
In Worship, we decided that our welcome to worship was a bit tired and so the challenge went out to all staff and children to think of a new worship greeting. Mrs Smart's idea was chosen, she linked it to our school motto, and it goes like this;
The leader says:
"Together we smile" - the children smile at each other
"Together we care" the children give themselves a hug
"Together we learn" - the children make a book with their hands
Everyone says "Together we share" - we all hold hands with the person either side of us.
A great start to every worship!
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the Key Stage 1 class worships over the coming weeks. Sycamore's was really great this week.
